What is reach program?
REACH is a rigorous summer enrichment program for academically talented African-American middle school young men and college undergraduates. When students reach the 8th grade, the REACH Program staff offers them and their families advice and counseling in choosing a demanding college-preparatory high-school curriculum.

What is reach in high school?
The mission of the REACH program is to provide students with an alternative educational experience that cultivates academic, social, interpersonal, and vocational development. Challenging, standards-based academic offerings will prepare students to pursue a variety of post-high school endeavors.
How does the Reach program work?
The REACH program helps you pay for energy during a crisis. REACH provides an energy credit for up to $300 based on the past due bill (energy credit support is subject to funding availability). A non-profit organization runs the REACH program from 170 offices in Northern and Central California.
What is a reach Grant?
REACH gives funds to state and local health departments, tribes, universities, and community-based organizations. Recipients use these funds to build strong partnerships to guide and support the program’s work. Along with funding, CDC provides expert support to REACH recipients.
What is the CDC reach program what health problems does it target?
Since 1999, REACH has been the only CDC program that explicitly focuses on reducing chronic diseases for multiple racial and ethnic groups in communities with high rates of chronic diseases.
Why was the race and health initiative launched?
The race and health initiative was launched to enhance efforts in preventing disease, promoting health, and delivering care to racial and ethnic minorities. One of the primary aims of the initiatives consists of the consultation and collaboration of all governments and community officials to research health issues.
